"Nevertheless, every seed planted will have a ripple effect.
You could see it in the present or a time not seen yet.
So be wise about where you plant your seeds.
Be very mindful of your actions & deeds.
Negativity grows just as fast if not faster than positivity.
Plant seeds of kindness, love and peace
And your harvest will be abundant living.”
– Sanjo Jendayi
It began with a yearning for belonging with the living world
Growing up in suburbia in so-called Canada, I had a comfortable childhood. I didn’t realize until later in life, though, how much it impacted me being disconnected from the natural world. While I had all my material needs met, I was missing something more spiritual - I was missing a sense of belonging with something greater than the human realm.
Earth Weavers Collective is my offering as my adult self to my younger self, and to others who have felt like me - split wide open with both love and gratitude, and at the same time, pain, grief, and rage for humanity’s carnage on the Earth. This is a space for sharing teachings that have helped me and others to reconnect to our great Earth Mother, and for deepening into our heart’s knowing and believing in our sacred belonging within the web of life.
Weaving the ritual practices and grief exploration of Joanna Macy’s Work That Reconnects; with the optimism and opportunity of Permaculture; with my own experiences with plant medicines & growing and preserving food; with whatever topic I happen to be deep-diving on at the moment; with anything else that germinates from the rich community web that intertwines here… my hope is that this emergent space - this little seed destined to become something unknown to us - provides some solace for your soul, some balm for your heart bruises, and a cozy nest for our collective dreaming of a more beautiful future.
